Topcon Releases FC-250 Next-generation Field Controller with Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System, 806MHz Processor and Multiple Wireless Technologies

Topcon introduces a one-of-a-kind product in field controller technology with its new FC-250. The FC-250 is designed to give users increased power and performance in a rugged and compact unit.

The FC-250 has the operating system power of the latest Windows Mobile® Version 6.5. The PC performance with 806MHz processor and 256MB SDRAM is designed to significantly speed up job site projects. The FC-250 also has built-in Bluetooth® modem and wireless LAN capability as standard features.

Kenichi Takasu, Topcon Corporation’s product manager, said, “The FC-250 is not a simple improvement over the successful FC-200. It offers improved graphics and user-interface as well as the highest PC performance ideal for handling video images.”

“When used with Topcon IS Imaging Station, the FC-250 displays real-time images transferred from IS via WLAN, allowing users to work with live images. This feature will certainly drive forward the one-person survey technology,” Takasu said.

Additional features of the FC-250 include:

  • 3.7” touch-screen display;
  • Optional Spread Spectrum Radio (RS-1) can be attached;
  • Optional long-range Class 1 Bluetooth modem (RS-1B) can be attached;
  • Quick access to swap the battery;
  • SD and CF card slots;
  • USB, and Serial ports.
